Day 2 - PGA Coaching and 18 holes at Portsalon Links

After breakfast your driver will take you to Foyle Golf Academy to meet PGA Professionals Derek Morrison and Sean Young, 2 great local lads who know the game of golf inside out. They will introduce you to Irish Links Golf and what to expect in the coming days. Learn what shots you have to master to take on the tough links in the stunning North Coast.

After your group lesson, enjoy lunch at Portsalon Clubhouse before you tee off at the Links in the afternoon.

Portsalon Golf Club was established in 1891 and is one of the founder members of the Golfing Union of Ireland, the oldest golfing union in the world. This wonderful links course remains one of Irish golf’s best kept secrets.

The course simply exudes character and charm, does not suffer from any pretensions of greatness and offers all visitors a warm welcome. Portsalon is a course blessed by nature, with most of the course set in glorious duneland along the shores of Lough Swilly

Not only is Portsalon a magnificent test of golf, its setting is truly breathtaking. The golden sands along Ballymastocker Bay and the majesty of Lough Swilly and the Inishowen Hills beyond provide the backdrop for almost 7000 yards that will enthrall and challenge any golfer. Redesigned in 2001 by Pat Ruddy, dune lined fairways, cannily placed bunkers and well protected greens are the hallmark of Portsalon.

Day 3 - 18 holes at Donegal (Murvagh Links)

Enjoy a morning Private tour around the historic Derry City. Join your guide as they take you around key locations in and around the only intact walled city in Ireland.  Passionate in their storytelling, the guides mix humour and history while telling the story in a sensitive way.  Learn more about the varied and poignant stories of the city – The Bloody Sunday Story, the Apprentice Boys history, the traditions of the marching season, the famous murals and of course the walls themselves. The tour takes approx 1-2hrs. Then its off to Donegal for another fantastic links course.

Murvagh is a links course built on a promontory of 182 acres that extends out into the Atlantic Ocean. The course, built on land of geological significance, was inhabited in past centuries, and the earliest of Irish maps indicate this.  The outside loop plays along the dunes and the ocean, providing stunning views of the surrounding area.

The inner loop is more protected, however the constantly changing sea breeze provides a continuing test for both pro and amateur golfer. Despite its length, the course is an easy walk, broken up by the outstanding views, wildlife and display of fauna and flora that continues to change and evolve throughout the year.

Day 4 - 18 holes at Castlerock

On the way to Castlerock we stop at Mussenden Temple. Perching dramatically on a 120 ft cliff top, high above the Atlantic Ocean on the north-western coast of Northern Ireland, offering spectacular views westwards over Downhill Strand towards Magilligan Point and County Donegal and to the east Castlerock beach towards Portstewart, Portrush and Fair Head. Explore Downhill Demesne and enjoy a stunning cliff top walks around this diverse historical site

The temple was built in 1785 and forms part of the estate of Frederick Augustus Hervey, Bishop of Derry and Earl of Bristol (or the Earl Bishop). The temple was built as a summer library and its architecture was inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, near Rome.

Castlerock is situated on the Causeway coast and only a 20 minute drive from both Royal Portrush Golf Club and Portstewart Golf Club, Castlerock is a more than worthy neighbour to both of these great Irish links. Its scenic qualities embrace the river Bann flowing out to the Atlantic, and also eye-catching views of Donegal and on a clear day towards Scotland and the Isle of Islay. An ideal retreat in which to play golf.

In 2015, Castlerock was awarded Hidden Gem of Northern Ireland. The Golf Club lies on Ireland’s North Coast near Coleraine, about 60-minutes’ drive from Belfast city. The traditional links course is one of many North Ireland gems golf courses.

Day 5 - PGA Coaching and 18 holes at Rosapenna Links

Today your driver will take you to Foyle Golf Academy. Today’s lesson is based on your experience thus far and to work on certain parts of your game from Driving, Iron play and/or short game to save you those vital strokes.

After your group lesson, enjoy lunch at Donegal Broardwalk Bar & Restaurant before you tee off at Rosapenna Links.

Golfers have been travelling to Rosapenna since the late 19th century when the Old Tom Morris Links was ranked 3rd in the British Isles behind only The Old Course at St.Andrews and The Royal County Down Golf Club. With the addition of the hotel soon after the Old Tom Morris Links opened in 1893 Rosapenna is the true first golf resort in the world.

In 2003 Rosapenna opened a second course the Sandy Hills Links designed by Pat Ruddy of The European Club fame. In its relatively short lifetime the Sandy Hills Links has been met with rave reviews and steadily climbed the rankings as it matures into one of the worlds finest modern links courses.

2021 saw the reimagined St Patricks Links by Tom Doak open to the public in late June. Tom & his team have breathed new life into this spectacular site at Rosapenna. Originally encompassing 36 holes, Tom has fashioned 18 unrecognisable and unforgettable holes over the same tract of land. The result? A sprawling links that is destined to become a modern great. The routing takes golfers on a journey through huge dunes, to high above Sheephaven Bay, along the coast, then back over some more gentle dunes… and that’s just the front nine! With plenty of width and an eclectic mix of naturalised bunkers, the course is unlike anything in the UK & Ireland… or anywhere else for that matter.

Day 6 - PRO-AM Day - Ballyliffin Golf Club

Today you will play with your local PGA Professionals in a team event. Ballyliffin awaits you, but before you arrive enjoy breakfast at Nancys Barn which is located 5 mins from the Golf Course and enjoy a traditional Irish Breakfast.. When I play Ballyliffin I can’t drive past here without stopping

Ballyliffin has rapidly gained acclaim and recognition as one of the finest golf clubs in the world. Situated on the northern most tip of Ireland, at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way, Ballyliffin is now firmly on the itinerary of every discerning golfer visiting this island.
